It can be frustrating in the winter months when it comes to photography. The days are shorter, the temperatures are colder, and it becomes more challenging to get out and do what we love.
Zack Arias recently posted a fantastic video on his website detailing this seasonal struggle, and how to cope with it. I decided to take some of his advice. So I set out one day to just shoot. No clients, no work, no purpose, just the pure joy of photography. I rented the most expensive and best lens I could, and out I went. On the itinerary: St. Lawrence Market, Front Street, Union Station, Queen Street West and Chinatown. It was all great until the security guard at Union asked me for a permit. Little did I know if I'm registered as a student you can still shoot. Awesome!
I learned that you get some of the most unexpected shots when you're not trying to continually craft them. Skills are refined and eyes are bettered by shooting with no predispositions. I think the results speak for themselves:
What's up next for Fodor Photography? On location at a corporate gig and afterwards a commercial project. More coming up soon.
